William has learned how to sign "love"! It is adorable! I don't have a picture to share, but I will post one soon. I've been signing "love" when I say "I love you, William", and he suddenly started imitating the sign. When he hears the word "love" he will sign it.
Love is crossing your arms over your chest/front like an X. It's like giving yourself a hug.

Pray for Grandpa Burge
Please pray for Grandpa (Olly's grandpa) in England (actually Wales) who is sick right now. He is a lovely man. I really think Olly's grandparents, Nana and Grandpa, are two of the neatest people I've ever met. I only wish that the distance wasn't so great so we could spend more time with them.
If I could've I would've put them in my suitcase and brought them home with me when we visited over last Christmas!
Here's a little story to tell you how wonderful they are...when we were in England last Christmas William was 10 months old. He was a little apprehensive around new people, because we had traveled 4,000 miles and went 6 hours ahead (that's a lot for a baby). The day that William met Nana and Grandpa was at Olly's mum (the English spelling for mom) and dad's house for a family get together. I set William on Nana's lap, and he just sat there with her and looked at her like he was studying her. He didn't move a bit and didn't cry. This also happened when we saw them a few days later. He was perfectly content on her lap. It was the same way with Grandpa. He went right to Grandpa and was perfectly content with him. Grandpa brought him over to the Christmas tree and they looked at the lights. I think William already knew just how wonderful they truly are.

He loves to "drive"! He gets mad when I put him in his carseat, but I just remind him that he can drive in about 15 years!

My poor ignored blog! I still don't have a computer at home (yeah, get with it, Alicia!), so my computer time is limited. Soon hopefully now that school is soon to start.
William has had a good summer. He has kept me REALLY busy! He loves to swim! He doesn't even care if he goes under water! I quickly pick him up, he gives a little cough, and then he has a big smile on his face! Our local pool is a zero degrees pool, so we enjoy going there-NO SAND! We've been to a local man made lake too. It's fun there too, but then I find sand everywhere for the next week.
We've been to the zoo a couple times too. He was more interested in the little carnival next to the zoo!
William is talking a LITTLE bit. He says duck (I think?), car (I think?), mama, dada, and we'll say, "What does Scooter say?" (My parents' dog) and he said, "Ruff".
We've also been teaching him sign language to help communicate. It's really neat! He loves that he can tell us what he wants and we understand him. The light bulb has gone off! Now, if he would start talking too!

Time to Update!

I haven't forgotten about my blog! I just haven't had much time to update it these days. All is well with us. It has been a really busy summer. Olly's parents were here for 2 weeks, and we had a lovely time. We went sightseeing throughout the Twin Cities and up to Duluth and the North Shore for a few days. It was a really nice time. I was getting too used to Sue and Gray getting up with William in the morning, bathing him, and everything else. It was nice to be able to run errands and not have to bring him along...one day I even had a pedicure!
Olly's job continues to go well. I'm enjoying my break from work. After Olly's parents went back to England =( William and I went up to my parents' cabin over the
4th of July. William loves being at the cabin. He loves running around outside and going on the boat. I'll post some pictures of him at the cabin as well.

Update(s)
Hi to everyone who reads my blog!
Sorry I haven't updated my blog in forever. We will haven't gotten a computer at our new house. We plan to but the days just fly by. It's nice though, because it forces me to be more productive with my time than to surf the web!
We moved into our townhome. It's really nice! We are enjoying it. We were hit with a bad storm this weekend (we were out of town), but there was damage to our townhome. There is major hail damage to one side. The hail literally put holes into the siding because of its size and force. Our screens are ripped too. We were so lucky though. Many townhomes had broken windows and more damage. And then there was the community hit about a half hour east of us who had houses wiped out, so we were very lucky.
I got a job for next year!!!!!!!!!! I will be teaching first grade again-yipee! I will be at a different school, but it's really nice and closer to home. I'm sad to leave my current school, but I am excited to have another job. I cannot believe how competitive the teaching profession is in MN. There are about 500 applicants per ONE CLASSROOM TEACHER POSITION! How does a person ever get a chance?!?!? I'm one of the lucky ones! My hard work pays off too.
William is really well. He is walking...no, running all over. He has become really picky about food =( No longer can I brag about my good eater. He refuses most fruits and vegetables, and the only way he will eat them is if I trick them. Yes, I mix them in other foods where he can't see them. I'm bummed out that. Otherwise he is really well.
I'll post pictures of our townhome and William as soon as I get a free moment which might be in a couple weeks when school is out!

Today was the BIG DAY!
We closed on our house today! It went smoothly and everything was in order. It was actually quite anti-climatic...
I worked today from 8-noon. I took the afternoon off to run errands, go to the bank, and make sure everything was ready. My realtor and I had our final walk-through, and everything was great! The supervisor for the building company showed me different things-outlets, how to turn the water off, the electrical box, all that fun stuff...actually I really had to concentrate! I was more interested in the light fixtures, carpet, paint, appliances...
After that we headed down to the office in Maple Grove for the closing. I don't know what I was expecting, but we signed a ton of papers while the "closing man" explained everything. At the end he handed me the keys and said, "congratulations". I was waiting to hear a drum roll or a band play or something, but it was just me thanking him with a big (dorky) grin on my face. We immediately drove a trailer load of stuff over there with my mom and Steve. Olly and Steve unloaded while my mom, William, and I hung out. We did some unpacking, but William was pretty tired. We went back home, put him to sleep, and then went back to the house (Olly and I). We unpacked and unpacked. It was so fun! I put up my beautiful shower curtain (that I haven't seen in 2 years and have never used), got the towels out (what a pain to have to wash everything!), and started rinsing and putting away the dishes. I decided that organizing a kitchen might not be too fun, so I've left that job for my mom-something she wants to do. If you know my mom, you know that she will do a great job.
It is so exciting to have a nice and new place. It's so bright and warm. We met a neighbor. She also closed today and was moving in. I think she was pretty drunk, because she was slurring her words and not making a whole lot of sense. She had some friends with her, and I think rather than moving in, they were partying. I guess moving to a new place calls for celebration! I think we'll celebrate AFTER the boxes are unpacked and things are put away.

Our House is Done!
I don't have any pictures to post, because we didn't have the camera with, but our townhome is complete! It looks so nice inside! I love the colors they chose (we didn't get to pick the colors). I love the wall color (it's not white!), the carpet, the woodwork and cabinets, flooring, and the light fixtures are perfect. If we had been able to choose, we probably would've picked what they picked.
Everything is so clean and new! In the pictures from a previous post it was pretty messy, but now it's clean and sparkling!
I am so excited to decorate William's room. I bought him a bookshelf which matches his dresser. My mom bought his dresser as a gift before he was born. We bought an unfinished dresser at a wood furniture store and picked the finish for it. I ordered a bookshelf in the same wood, and it will match the dresser. I splurged and order a kid's table and chairs. It will be in a darker wood and most likely be in the loft (which may be like a play room).
We also bought living room furniture-a couch, chair, ottoman, and two end tables. I swore that my old couches were NOT going into the new townhome, so the new furniture is being delivered the day after we close!

I'm not crazy about the pillows on the couch and will probably buy other ones. We bought the furniture at Ashley Furniture. I highly recommend Ashley, because the service and prices were great!
