Cute Purse

I just bought this adorable purse from etsy.com (click the link or paste it into your browser). I love it! It's so cute and well made.

If you've never been to etsy.com before, YOU NEED TO CHECK IT OUT RIGHT NOW! It's like e-bay (well, not really). People make things in their homes (well made things for the most part), and then they post their items on etsy.com. I have bought a blanket, infant shoes (3 pairs), and now my purse.

My Students

Today my first graders had their spring concert. It was so cute! They did such a great job. I even got a little teary-eyed...gee...I can just imagine how I will be when my own children sing, play sports, etc...I'm going to be the mom crying behind her video camera!

I found these adorable "cake pops" on a website (the same one I listed a few posts below with the Easter cupcakes). Aren't these little cupcakes on a stick adorable? They were somewhat tedious but very fun to make. I love the end results!

William cracks me up!

Here are some funny things William either does or says...

-Lately he is obsessed with motorcycles (must be the nice weather). Whenever he sees a motorcycle he comments on whether the cyclist is wearing a helmet or not. He will say, "Helmet!" or "No helmet!" with such enthusiasm. When asked, "William, why does he have a helmet on?" He will say, "No owies!"

-For Easter my parents gave him a pair of Handy Manny pajamas. He loved them so much that he wore them to bed on Sunday night, all day Monday (we tried to get the shirt off but couldn't and it wasn't worth the fight-we did manage to change his pants though), and to bed on Monday night. We FINALLY got the shirt off on Tuesday! You're probably thinking that's pretty gross and could we let him wear his pj shirt for so long? Well, some battles are worth avoiding, and this was one of them!

-He has two loveys these days. The one he sleeps with but doesn't carry around is called "nice lovey" because it's still soft and not dirty. The one he carries everywhere is called "gross lovey". I keep trying to encourage him to call it something else, like "good lovey" but he always refers to it as "gross lovey". I wonder where he heard that from...(his daddy).

-He loves to pray at mealtimes. I never remember (oops) and he always does. Usually he doesn't remember right away; it's about halfway through. He throws down his utensil, and says, "oh!" and then puts his hands together. We pray and then as soon as we're done, he says with enthusiasm, "let's eat!" It's so cute!

I love this age! He really is so much fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter wouldn't be complete without an Easter egg hunt! Today was William's first Easter egg hunt, and he sure caught on quickly! I explained it to him, helped him find his first egg, and he was off and running after that. He kept saying, "more eggs!" and was really excited whenever he'd find an egg. At the end, he continued to say, "more eggs!" until we said, "Let's look inside your eggs and see what you got." He enjoyed opening each egg with Uncle Ryan. He received lots of dollar and quarter coins!

Easter with "Uma and Papa"

William couldn't believe his luck! The Easter bunny also visited Uma and Papa's house! He had fun finding his other Easter basket. This time he got Handy Manny pajamas, a talking and dancing chicken, an Easter book, and a new spring coat. Thank you Easter Bunny!

Easter Morning

William had so much fun looking for his Easter basket this morning! First we looked at the plate of carrots to see if the Easter bunny had eaten any, and he had! Then he found his basket and was really excited about his gifts. It's amazing how quickly young children catch onto the Easter bunny (and others such as Santa) and get so excited about it. Having a young child makes days like this so much fun! I love to watch the excitement on William's face!

Here are some pictures of William's Easter basket. I can't wait for him to find it! He loves Bob the Builder, so I found some great toys on Amazon for a great price (Bob the Builder is no longer available in the stores).

The talking/dancing doll talks, sings, and moves his hammer up and down.
There's also a BtB tool set with a yellow hat. The tool belt talks and sings.
The garden book and gardening tools are from Micheal's on clearance.
He really likes school buses, so I had to get a school bus book.

Holidays and special days are so fun with young children!

Watching Handy Manny

William hasn't showed much interest in TV, and we don't encourage it. Every once in awhile I will put a Handy Manny cartoon on for him to watch. Today I had a few things to do, so I put Handy Manny on, and he was glued to the TV.

He LOVES to be on our bed! He would spend the day on my bed, I think. This morning he cozied up with some books while I got ready for the day. Finally it was time to get him ready, and he didn't want to get off the bed!

Random Pictures...

Since we've lived here, I don't think I have taken any pictures of William's bedroom. It won't be long before he goes into a "big boy bed", so I thought I should take a few pictures. I painted the "WILLIAM" letters. I thought that was pretty good for someone who isn't too creative! My mom made his bedding. I love it! It's very neutral, maybe even a bit girly, but I fell in love with the material long before William was born.





We turned our loft into William's playroom. I bought the shelves and bins from IKEA. I love them! The bins slide out which is really nice.

What are we doing right now?

If you take a look at the pictures below, this is what we are doing right now. I just took these pictures a couple minutes ago and uploaded (it's a miracle I uploaded pictures on the same day I took them!). William has gotten into the habit of napping in my bed (and secretly I love it!). He sleeps so hard that being on the computer right next to him in bed or walking around doesn't bother him. Sometimes I take a nap too! I think I love it just as much as he does-if not more!
