I had my 36 week OB appointment this week. Baby girl is head down, and I hope she stays that way! Her heartbeat was good, and she's moving enough. Her movements aren't as big or as noticeable (I'm sure she's running out of room).
I'm 1 cm. dilated. This doesn't really mean anything to me, because I was the same with William and he was still 9 days overdue!
She said they wouldn't let me go any more than one week overdue. I'm really hoping to stay under a week overdue, but you never know! We talked about how "letting nature takes its course" is better than inducing if at all possible. I do agree even though I don't want to go overdue by too much!
I've had a cold for almost 2 weeks. I'm so stuffed up and it's preventing me from sleeping well. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. Bad-I need my sleep! Good-It's helping prepare me for being up at night with a newborn!
Next week I go back again for my 37 week appt. I wouldn't mind a little bit of progress between this week and next week!

Christmas Day
We spent Christmas Day at my aunt and uncle's house. It's always fun to get together with my family. We had a really nice day of good food, good treats, and good conversations.

Christmas Eve
We went to church and then to my parents' house on Christmas Eve. William enjoyed opening gifts. After he'd open one or two, he'd ask my mom, "Uma, are there any more gifts for me to open?" And of course there were! We went over there the next night as well, and William had more gifts to open! We had a really nice evening of dinner and gift opening with my family.

Christmas Morning
"How in the world do I put this together?" It was 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and I needed the train table set up before morning. We worked on it together and had it almost done by 1 a.m. I finished the tracks the next morning before William woke up.

William's Big Boy Room
Here are some pictures of William's big boy room. It's pretty much complete! I have to hang up the canvas prints. I've also ordered letters that spell his name, and those should be coming soon. They will coordinate with the bedding and the pattern/colors in the curtains.
I'm quite proud to say that I drew and painted the road and the vehicles on the walls! I was quite impressed with my skills as I'm normally not very artistic. I had hired someone to come in, but her schedule was busy and didn't coordinate with mine, so I thought I'd try it myself. I really enjoyed painting!

William
I can't believe my little boy is almost 3 years old! Two more months to go, and I will have a 3 year old!
William is learning so much everyday, and because of this I am too! The other night I picked up this little figurine of his and said, "here's your bird". He said, "no mama, it's a condor". Wow!
The other night he was getting some water for himself from the frig door (he can just reach it now). He spilled some and said, "oops, sorry mama. I spilled water all over the place. Can you come in here and give me a hand?" Ha! It sounded just too grown up coming out of a 2 1/2 year olds' mouth!
He's really into Dora and Diego. He always wants to watch them on TV. He will said, "mama, I want to watch a show". We're trying to limit his TV viewing, because he could easily sit in front of the TV all day. We do have battles over TV watching these days. I have to admit that sometimes it's nice he can watch a show, especially when I'm tired from a long day at work, not to mention 35 weeks pregnant!
He's been learning how to count using his fingers (something I learned at a teacher workshop). When I say, "show me 5" he will hold up 5 fingers. If I say, "show me 3 fingers" he will hold up 3 fingers. He's also doing numbers higher than 5. I will say, "7 is 5 on one hand and two on the other" and he will hold those up. It's early addition skills as well.
He has been asking for a "train" for Christmas which is perfect because we bought him a train table with the trains and train tracks. I can't wait for him to open his gifts, because this is the first year he seems to understand "santa is coming" and he will get gifts.
He's also been talking a lot about his baby sister. He tells us what he's going to do to help with her. He's not too interested in touching my tummy, and if I pull my shirt up, he says, "mama, put your shirt down!" He doesn't like when I pull my shirt up! It'll be interesting to see what happens when baby sister is here!

Big Brother Class
William is all set to be a big brother! My mom and I took him to a New Brother/New Sister class at the hospital where Baby Sister will be born (same hospital William was born at). We talked about babies, taking care of babies, what babies need, and practiced diapering, holding, and swaddling a baby. William seemed to enjoy it.
